登革熱疫情發燒，到目前有379名學生或老師確診或疑似感染登革熱，他們就醫後，必須在家休息1周，不用到學校。教育部表示，由於登革熱不會人傳人，因此沒有訂出班級或學校停課的標準或措施。

教育部綜合規畫司副司長謝淑貞說，學生感染登革熱，必須請病假在家休息1周，如果有人因此部分課程沒有上，學校或老師有必要安排補課，以協助他們趕上進度。

過去在SARS或新流感疫情發燒時，因為會人傳人，教育部訂有停課標準；但登革熱是透過病媒蚊叮咬而感染，不會人傳人，因此沒有學校或班級必須集體停課的情形。

大學將在9月中旬開學，學校沒有做好環境清潔，疫情可能擴大。根據規定，學校未清除病媒蚊孳生源，當地衛生局可以裁罰3000元到1萬5000元，之後教育部會給10天改善期，如果再度被衛生或環保單位查獲有病媒蚊孳生，會扣減學校補助款。

謝淑貞說，已行文要求各級學校清除校園內積水及病媒蚊孳生源，教育部最近1、2個月也會到學校查訪，避免疫情擴大。
